Pakistan Unveils SHAHPAR-II drone at Egypt defense Expo 2021

Pakistan is the first country to demonstrate an air-to-ground armed drone. At the Egyptian Defense Expo EDEX 2021, an armed version of Pakistan’s Global Defence and Industrial Solutions (GIDS) SHAHPAR-II medium altitude long endurance (MALE) surveillance drone was showcased.

Each of the drone’s two weapons stations can hold 60 kilogrammes of municipal munitions created by the Pakistani military’s NESCOM, with a maximum weight of 60 kilogrammes.

The drone’s service ceiling for observation is 20,000 feet, while its service ceiling for attack missions is 18,000 feet. It features 14-hour surveillance endurance and a 7-hour attack endurance, as well as a real-time data link with 300-kilometer range.

The drone is lighter and more aerodynamically nimble thanks to automated takeoff and landing, retractable landing gears, asymmetric landing, and a composite airframe.

The new Zumr-II EO/IR, as well as a variety of other surveillance payloads, can be fitted into the armed drome.
