Pakistan Will Become No.1 ODI Team With Victory in Fourth ODI

If Pakistan wins the fourth match of the five-match One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand scheduled to be held in Karachi today, they have the potential to become the number one ranked ODI team in the world.

With three consecutive victories in the first three matches of the series, Pakistan currently leads with an unassailable 3-0 lead.

According to a statement issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan’s performance in the ongoing one-day international (ODI) series against New Zealand has propelled them from fifth to third place in the ODI rankings, with a rating of 106. Meanwhile, New Zealand has dropped from second to fifth place.

According to a press release from the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan’s current ODI ranking is third with a rating of 112, which is slightly behind Australia’s ranking of 113.286 and India’s ranking of 112.638.

If Pakistan wins the fourth ODI, they will surpass both Australia and India and take the top spot with a rating of 113.483, pushing Australia to second place and India to third.

To secure their position at the top of the ODI rankings, Pakistan needs to win the series 5-0. However, if they lose the last match, they will slip to the third spot, allowing Australia to regain the top spot.

Pakistan can also hold onto their number one ranking if they win the fourth ODI and the fifth game is abandoned or declared a no-result.

According to a statement from the International Cricket Council (ICC), New Zealand’s hopes of claiming the top spot in the ODI rankings have been dashed after suffering three consecutive losses in the ongoing series against Pakistan. The Black Caps, who were second in the rankings before the series, have dropped down to fifth with a rating of 108. The ICC mentioned that the best position New Zealand could achieve now is third place if they manage to win the last two ODIs.
