Pakistan Will Not Withdraw from Hosting Asia Cup: Najam Sethi

Najam Sethi chairman of the PCB acknowledges Pakistan’s position on the India controversy and states that we would not compromise on hosting the Asia Cup 2023 at any cost.

The Asian event is set to take place in Pakistan this year, but the future is uncertain because India refused to visit Pakistan.

The chairman assured the reporter that Pakistan will never abandon hosting because of controversy.

The chairman of the PCB stated, “We will arrange a dialogue and if circumstances are not favorable, we will withdraw from the competition.”

The 2023 edition of the Asia Cup is set to take place in Pakistan, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has repeatedly urged the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to choose a neutral location because they wouldn’t be sending a team to the neighboring state.

Najam Sethi chairman of the PCB stated that the PCB is prepared to offer solutions after revealing that four to five discussions have already been held with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and BCCI.

“We questioned them as to whether they saw the foreign teams traveling to Pakistan. There is obviously no security threat; perhaps your security is a problem. Everyone on your team will receive foolproof security from us”.

The chairman continued, “If the government has banned India from traveling to Pakistan to play, then provide written evidence.”

He continued by saying that the Indian Cricket Board has not shown any solid proof to argue against the government’s denial. However, we now make enough money from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to make up for the ICC deficit.
