Pakistan Won’t Play World Cup Matches in India’s Ahmedabad, Najam Sethi to ICC

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee (PCB), Najam Sethi announced that the Pakistan cricket team will not participate in World Cup in Ahmedabad, India, except for the final match.

As per the resources, Najam Sethi directed the declaration to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Moreover, the chairman asked ICC to reassess the venue and should consider Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata if the Pakistan government gives clearance for the team to travel to India in October and November.  

Najam Sethi also forwarded that PCB is reluctant about having Pakistan vs India match at Narendra Modi Stadium. ICC recently visited Lahore and professed satisfaction with Pakistan’s atmosphere for sports and expressed that the country is capable of hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy.
