Pakistani Bikers Reach UAE En Route to Makkah for Umrah

A major step in “religious tourism” has been initiated in Lahore as a group consisting of 25 bikers left for Saudi Arabia via road on Friday to perform Umrah.

The bikers will cover a distance of more than 14,000 kilometres to reach Makkah.

Officials of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), along with representatives of Iran’s Khana Farhang (cultural centre), were present at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium as the group of bikers embarked on their journey.

According to the TDCP, the group of bikers would visit Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq. Their prime focus would be to visit the main cultural, religious, and tourist attractions in the countries.

The motorcyclists claim that their journey is intended to advance sense of unity, brotherhood, and peace. Before setting out on this mission, they completed a great deal of research.

Moreover, the bikers also revealed that they have made all necessary security arrangements for the journey.
