Pakistani boxer Qudratullah has reportedly gone missing in Glasgow just hours before the national team’s planned departure after the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
According to sources from the Pakistan Boxing Federation, the young boxer was last seen in his hotel room around 2:00 a.m. When team officials gathered the squad at 9:00 a.m. for the flight home, he was not present. His luggage and personal belongings remained in the room, but he could not be located despite searches.
Qudratullah competed in the men’s 60kg category. He won his opening bout against Fiji’s Jone Davule but was later eliminated in the pre-quarter-finals. His passport and return ticket were still with the team manager, as is standard practice for Pakistani athletes travelling abroad.
Team officials have informed the relevant authorities and contacted the Pakistan Consulate for assistance. Pakistan Boxing Federation President Col (R) Nasir Ijaz Tung confirmed the incident, describing it as unfortunate.
This is not the first time Pakistani boxers have gone missing during international events. Similar cases occurred after the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
