Pakistani E-Passports in UAE Cost Up to Rs. 193,040

Pakistani citizens living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now apply for electronic passports, with fees reaching around Rs. 193,040 for certain applications involving lost passports.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai began issuing only e-passports for new applications from July 20, 2026. The charges depend on the passport’s validity, number of pages and processing speed.

For a 10-year passport with 72 pages, the normal fee is AED 390, while urgent processing costs AED 635. However, the highest listed charge is AED 2,540, around Rs. 193,040, for replacing a 72-page passport lost for the second time under urgent processing.

A five-year, 36-page e-passport costs AED 145 under normal processing and AED 235 under urgent service.

The new documents follow international aviation standards and contain an electronic chip that stores personal and biometric information to help verify the holder’s identity.

Existing machine-readable passports will remain valid until their expiry dates. Pakistani residents in the UAE with more than six months of validity remaining have been advised to wait before applying for renewal.
