Pakistani rice sold in International market labeled “Made in India.”

Pakistani rice traders are allegedly dissatisfied after discovering that Pakistani rice is being offered in the foreign market with the label “produced in India.”

Khalil Ahmed, Managing Director of Charagh Group of Companies, told Deutsche Welle (DW), a German international broadcaster, that “Indians in Muscat, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai acquire rice from us but sell it under their own brands and labelling.”

Pakistan’s rice export organisation has launched a case in an international court against Indian rice purchasing businesses. However, because the issue is still pending in court, the association has declined to communicate with DW about it.

According to rice sellers, the problem is more than just branding.
