Pakistani Sikh ‘Dr. Sagar Singh’ Nominated for British Award in UK

Dr. Sagar Singh, a member of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has been named a finalist in the category of International Sikh of the Year 2021 at the British Sikh Awards in the United Kingdom.

The award recognises a wide range of achievements from inspiring personalities to critical contributions made by the Sikh community in a variety of sectors, with recipients chosen from Asia, the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Those who have a good impact on business, philanthropy, sports, arts, culture, religious advocacy, education, and medicine are included.

Dr. Singh, 33, is a Sindh inhabitant. He stated that in the past, Sikhs were mostly nominated from India, Canada, and other nations. This time, the award will be given to a Pakistani Sikh who will represent the Pakistani Sikh community in the United Kingdom. “It is a wonderful honour not just for myself, but also for the entire Sikh community in Pakistan.”

He shared his experience, saying that Sikhs have earned importance in numerous fields in Pakistan, such as medical sciences, police, banking, and defence, and that all of this was only possible due of education.
