Gold prices in Pakistan have increased sharply over the past four years, giving people who bought the precious metal in 2022 a significant rise in its rupee value.
A tola of 24-karat gold was priced at around Rs. 132,300 in March 2022. Contemporary market records show the rate stood at Rs. 132,300 on March 29 that year.
By October 3, 2026, the price of one tola of 24-karat gold had reached Rs. 436,336, according to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). The rate increased further to Rs. 437,536 on October 5.
Based on the October 3 rate, a person who purchased one tola for Rs. 132,300 in 2022 would now hold gold worth Rs. 436,336. This represents an increase of Rs. 304,036, or about 230 percent, in the market value.
The rise reflects major changes in both international gold prices and Pakistan’s currency exchange rate. Gold prices in the country have remained highly volatile, with global market movements and the rupee’s value affecting local rates.
