Car sales in Pakistan recorded a massive jump in April 2026, highlighting a strong recovery in the country’s automobile sector and improving consumer confidence. According to data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), total vehicle sales reached 22,015 units during the month, reflecting an impressive 106.9% increase compared to 10,640 units sold in April last year.
On a month-on-month basis, sales also posted significant growth, climbing 41.7% from 15,531 units recorded in March 2026. The sharp increase suggests improving market momentum, stronger buyer demand, and better availability of vehicles across multiple categories.
During the first ten months of FY2026, cumulative car sales reached 166,035 units, marking a 49% year-on-year rise compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. The consistent increase in sales indicates that Pakistan’s auto industry is gradually regaining strength after facing economic uncertainty, high inflation, and supply chain disruptions in recent years.
Among manufacturers, Toyota maintained its leading position in the market, while Honda also recorded strong performance. Popular compact models such as the Suzuki Swift and Suzuki Alto continued to attract buyers due to their affordability, fuel efficiency, and suitability for urban driving conditions.
The SUV segment witnessed particularly strong demand during April, with vehicles like the HAVAL lineup and the Hyundai Tucson gaining popularity among consumers seeking premium features and larger family vehicles. The rising interest in SUVs reflects changing customer preferences and increasing competition within Pakistan’s expanding crossover market.
The agriculture-related segment also showed positive momentum, as tractor sales increased alongside growing rural economic activity and improved farming demand. At the same time, commercial vehicles and jeeps registered healthy gains, pointing toward rising business activity, improving logistics movement, and renewed confidence in the transportation sector.
Industry analysts believe the strong sales figures are being supported by easing economic pressures, improved financing conditions, and stabilizing market sentiment. If the trend continues, Pakistan’s automotive sector could witness one of its strongest growth years in recent times, benefiting manufacturers, dealerships, vendors, and related industries across the country.
