Pakistanis have a new option thanks to Facebook Marketplace

Following in the footsteps of Amazon, Facebook has created a chance for Pakistanis running online companies to thrive through its initiative.

“It would encourage small entrepreneurs to sell online; such opportunities during Covid-19 could be a lifeline for smaller enterprises,” said Adviser to the PM on Commerce Razak Dawood on Twitter.

“These types of chances provide significant access to small businesses not just in Pakistan, but also internationally,” said Faisal, whose company is a TikTok, Eskimi DSP, and Spider AF advertising reseller in Pakistan.

“Another advantage of these online platforms is that the government can collect taxes from online retailers, such as GST,” Faisal explained.

Faisal also explained that by establishing online marketplaces, these platforms establish a presence in the country, allowing small company owners to communicate with the service centre in their own tongue, which in Pakistan is Urdu.
