Pakistan’s Exports Touched $30 Billion First Time Ever in The History this Year

President Dr Arif Alvi, on Saturday, lauded the business community for hitting the $30 billion mark in exports this year despite the prevailing economic conditions.“It is encouraging that despite the challenges, Pakistan’s exports for the first time in history, touched $30 billion,” he said, adding that the government is committed to providing a competitive and fair business environment to entrepreneurs and had taken the necessary steps to achievethe purpose.

Speaking business leaders at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), President Alvi urged the community to enhance the participation of women in the business sector and labour force as they could play an integral part in society.He stressed the need to take practical and time-bound steps to increase women’s inclusion in the productive workforce and to create a safe, conducive, and women-friendly environment at the workplace.

The president further added that businessmen must set goals and directions in order to achieve the financial objectives of enterprises for economic prosperity, in addition to playing their role to make businesses dispense their responsibilities towards society. “Persons with disabilities (PWDs) need to be employed in different sectors of the economy with an understanding of their particular skill-set,” said the president.
