Haider Ali achieved something amazing at the ongoing Asian Para Games in China. He won a gold medal in the Discus Throw event with a throw of 51.23 meters. Japan’s Yamato Shimbo got the silver, and China’s Zhang Xuelong got the bronze.
What’s even more impressive is that Haider earned a spot in the Paris 2024 Paralympics by doing much better than the required minimum distance of 39 meters. All of his throws during the competition went beyond that mark.
Haider Ali’s achievements go beyond this. He made history by winning Pakistan’s first gold medal in Discus Throw at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
Haider is not just good at Discus Throw; he has also won a silver and bronze medal in the Long Jump event in the 2008 and 2016 Paralympics.
He’s one of Pakistan’s most exceptional para-athletes, winning a total of six medals in various events at the Asian Para Games, including Javelin Throw, Discus Throw, 100m, and Long Jump.
