Pakistan’s Likely Playing XI for Asia Cup Super 4 Clash Against Sri Lanka

In the upcoming 2023 Asia Cup Super 4 clash against Sri Lanka, Pakistan is expected to make some changes to their playing XI. This shift comes after their significant loss to India, where their key pacers, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, suffered from minor injuries.

One likely change is replacing Agha Salman with left-handed batter Saud Shakeel. While Shakeel hasn’t played much in One Day Internationals (ODIs), he has made a mark in Test cricket, even scoring a double-century against Sri Lanka.

Agha Salman, on the other hand, has had a tough time in the Asia Cup matches, and an injury sustained against India could be a factor in his probable absence.

Considering the spin-friendly conditions in Colombo, Pakistan might opt for Usama Mir instead of Faheem Ashraf. However, weather conditions could influence this decision.

Additionally, Zaman Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jr. are likely to replace Naseem and Rauf due to their ongoing injury concerns. These changes aim to strengthen Pakistan’s lineup for the upcoming match.
