Former Pakistani off-break bowler Saeed Ajmal has lavished praise on the national team’s captain, Babar Azam, and expressed his willingness to have more “selfish” players like him in the team if it leads to achieving remarkable records.
Ajmal commended Babar for his recent accomplishments, including becoming the fastest player to reach 5000 runs, scoring his 18th century, and maintaining an impressive average of 59.85, surpassing Virat Kohli.
Despite accusations of selfishness, Ajmal believes having three to four players with Babar’s level of dedication would be beneficial for the team. Pakistan’s dominant 102-run victory over New Zealand on Friday propelled them to a 4-0 lead in the ongoing five-match ODI series.
Consequently, Pakistan has attained the top position in the ICC ODI team rankings for the first time since its introduction in January 2005.
