Parliament to Become paperless by January 2023: IT Minister

Syed Aminul Haque, the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, stated on Saturday that by January 2023, all call attention notifications, adjourned motions, attendance, voting, and other business in Parliament will be conducted online.

On Saturday, he said this during a ceremony at the Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU).

He told the audience that, as part of the Digital Pakistan project, all emergency response lines across the country will be combined into the 911 hotline, and that the IT ministry had finalised the plan for the establishment of a single emergency helpline, PEHEL-911.

Haque stated that the federal government was working to provide internet access to the rural population, particularly rural youngsters. “A total of Rs49 billion has been spent on improving connection in the country, with Rs12.4 billion spent in Sindh’s rural districts.”
