Shaukat Tarin, the Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, recommended unregistered potential taxpayers on Friday to begin paying taxes before the government contacts them with formal evidence of their holdings in a few months.
“I promise the nation that change is underway, that we are utilising technology, and that we will reach all potential taxpayers,” he stated during the Federal Board of Revenue’s launch of the National Sales Tax Returns (NSTR) (FBR).
He stated that if people refused to pay taxes, the law would take its course. While launching National Sales Tax Returns here at FBR’s headquarters, he made an appeal to the nation.
Finance Minister commended Chairman FBR and his staff for bringing this long-awaited effort to fruition in such a short time to the august assembly of FBR Members, dignitaries, senior officers, and media representatives.
