PCB has brought Shahid Aslam back as the batting coach for the national white-ball teams. Aslam, who is a qualified coach with a lot of experience, has worked with the team before in different roles, including at the High Performance Centre.
This change comes after Mohammad Yousuf, the previous batting coach, resigned from his position. However, the PCB did not accept Yousuf’s resignation.
Aaqib Javed, who is currently the interim head coach of the team, recommended bringing Aslam back. Aaqib is with the team in Zimbabwe for an ongoing series of One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 (T20) matches. After this series, Aaqib and the team will head to South Africa.
Shahid Aslam’s reappointment is seen as a positive step for the team, as he brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to help improve the batting performance. The decision to rehire Aslam comes at a crucial time, with the team preparing for upcoming international challenges.
This move is expected to strengthen the team’s performance, especially in white-ball cricket, as Aslam has a deep understanding of the game and the needs of the players. With Aaqib Javed’s recommendation and Aslam’s proven track record, the PCB is hopeful that this partnership will bring success to Pakistan’s cricket team in the near future.
