The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started an internal inquiry following reports about discipline and conduct involving Pakistan cricketers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan. The development comes during Pakistan’s difficult Test tour of England.
The PCB confirmed the inquiry on Monday but did not give details about the specific allegations. Board media director Amir Mir said the matter is being reviewed internally and that the process will follow PCB regulations.
Both Imam and Rizwan were among seven players sent back to Pakistan after the team suffered heavy defeats in the first two Tests against England. The move created questions about issues within the squad, with reports suggesting that discipline and player conduct were also being examined.
However, the PCB has not officially confirmed claims linking the inquiry to match-fixing or any other specific offence. The board has said that all concerned individuals will be given due consideration during the process.
