PCB Plans To Build Cricket Stadium In Saudi Arabia, Jeddah May Host PSL Matches In Future

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is investigating an exciting new initiative to construct a modern cricket stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This stadium may soon host matches like the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to recent reports, the PCB has already received approval from its Board of Governors to move forward with the idea. The board is working with the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is leading the talks, and the PCB has sent an official “expression of interest” for the project.

The proposal is still in its early stages. No final agreement has been signed yet, and officials are now looking for a good location in Jeddah. The planned stadium would have floodlights and enough seats to host big international and league matches.

The main goal is to help grow cricket in Saudi Arabia, where many Pakistanis and other cricket fans live. A new stadium would give local players a chance to train and improve. It would also let fans in the region watch live PSL games without travelling far.

Pakistan has historically played a significant role in assisting other nations in cricket development. This collaboration with Saudi Arabia aligns with the Kingdom’s initiatives to foster sports as a component of its Vision 2030 strategy.

For the PSL, this could open a fresh chapter. The league has already been played in the UAE in the past. Adding Jeddah as a possible venue would bring more excitement and new fans to Pakistan’s biggest T20 tournament.
