Islamabad: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned live and recorded coverage of all rallies and public gatherings in Islamabad.
Pemra has issued a notification banning coverage for one day only.
Pemra’s notification states that in light of the Supreme Court’s 2018 order, the coverage has been banned under Section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance.
According to the notification, live or recorded coverage of the protest rally or public gathering cannot be done, the coverage has been banned in view of the law-and-order situation.
