Petrol Price Increases by Rs. 9.66, New Price Rs. 289.41/Litre

The government has announced that the price of petrol will go up by Rs9.66 per litre in the next two weeks because the cost of crude oil in the world market has increased. On the other hand, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) will be reduced by Rs3.32 per litre. These changes will start from April 1, according to the Finance Division.

The government said in a statement that the increase in petrol prices is due to the recent rise in international market rates, while HSD prices have gone down a bit. They mentioned that they are following their policy of matching domestic prices with changes in the global market. They want to make sure that consumers are affected by these changes.

This is not the first time the price of HSD has been reduced. It also went down in the middle of March 2024. The government wants to make sure that people are aware of these changes and understand why they are happening. They are committed to being transparent about how they set fuel prices and how it affects consumers.
