Petroleum Dealers Postponed Nationwide Strike for 2 Days

The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) has announced to delay its planned two-day strike of shutting down fuel pumps across the country.

The decision came after negotiations with Musadik Malik, the state minister for Petroleum. According to the news, Musadik Malik visited Karachi to convince PPDA to call off the nationwide strike.

PPDA stated that they may hold further negotiations with the government after two days therefore they announced to postpone the strike for two days. PPDA previously announced a nationwide shutdown of fuel pumps from July 22, demanding an increase in profit margins due to the inflation crisis.

The association highlighted that sales have declined, and Iranian fuel smuggling has also impacted their business. PPDA urged for a review of the dealership margin to address their concerns.
