PIA Plane Seized in Malaysia Over Non Payment of Lease Dues

Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777 airplane has been seized at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to the news, the Malaysian authorities has taken control of the aircraft due to nom-payment of lease dues. The plane was carrying 173 passengers and crew several crew members on board.

The aircraft with the registration number BMH, was taken on lease by PIA. The incident has happened for the second time now and as per the reports, the due amount is worth $4 million. The Malaysian local court released the order of seizing the airplane.

Earlier in 2021, the same aircraft PIA Boeing 777 was seized at Kuala Lumpur airport on the same issue of lease payment. However, authorities later released the plane after assurance of payment from diplomatic authorities and it landed in Pakistan on 27th January.
