Media announced on Saturday that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will release dues from PIA workers under the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) as of Wednesday.
As per reports, from next week, the national flag carrier will begin releasing dues from PIA workers who have opted for early retirement under the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS).
A special PIA account has been established in the Shaheed Millat branch of Karachi in the National Bank of Pakistan. The account will be managed by the Zonal Office of the AGP [Accountant General of Pakistan].
Over 2,000 PIA workers have opted for the federal government-initiated VSS program.
It should be noted here that the voluntary separation scheme (VSS) extended by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to allow workers to obtain compensation for leaving work voluntarily ended on 31 December. The federal government supplied the national flag carrier with funds of Rs. 9,84 billion.
