PIMS Launches Pakistan’s First Modular Operation Theatres

The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad has reached a significant achievement by installing state-of-the-art modular operation theatres. This makes PIMS the first government hospital in Pakistan to have such advanced facilities.

Seven modern theatres have been set up, featuring the latest medical technology to ensure top-quality care for patients. The project, which cost Rs1.4 billion, was funded to enhance the hospital’s surgical capabilities. The modular theatres were imported from Germany and are designed to be portable and highly efficient.

Each theatre is equipped with advanced sterilization units to ensure a clean environment, as well as audio-video systems that allow doctors to monitor surgeries in real time. Wireless cameras have been installed to improve the precision of the surgeries. Additionally, backup batteries have been included to keep the theatres operational even during power outages.

The theatres also have temperature-controlled systems for medical gases, which helps maintain the proper conditions for surgeries. This improvement ensures that the medical equipment and gases used are kept at the right temperature for optimal results.

These new modular operation theatres are a big step forward for PIMS, making it a leader in providing advanced medical care in Pakistan. With the latest technology and equipment, patients can expect safer and more efficient surgical procedures at this hospital.
