PITB Announced the Launch of Regional Plan9 Across Punjab

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has announced the launch of Regional Plan9, a network of technology startup incubators across the Punjab region.

The goal of Regional Plan9 is to inculcate a technology-driven entrepreneurial mentality across the province, which will be essential to growing and improving the startup ecosystem.

Regional Plan9 centers will provide the following services to inducted startups based on a ZERO EQUITY MODEL:

  • Free office space
  • Monthly stipend
  • Networking opportunities
  • Mentorship
  • Trainings and workshops

Each service is designed to help startups turn their concept into a working product or service by enabling, supporting, and sustaining them. The project is a reflection and result of the Punjab government’s commitment to promoting business activity and encouraging startup growth.

By recruiting and promoting exceptional startups, Regional Plan9 will represent the agenda of PITB’s entrepreneurship wing. Regional Plan9 will open nine incubation centers in Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, and Sargodha in collaboration with public sector universities.

Regional Plan9 will host “The Launchpad,” its flagship event, to induct startups based on eligibility criteria and a judicious selection process that includes domain experts’ input. The Launchpad brings together business leaders, advisers, and academics.
