PM Boris Is ‘Angry’ With ECB For Cancelling Pak Tour

Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, was enraged by the ECB’s decision to cancel the Pakistan trip, which ministers think has harmed relations between the two countries. Other officials have also expressed their disappointment with the England and Wales Cricket Board.

“The British High Commission backed the tour, didn’t advise against it on security reasons, and our Pakistan travel advice hasn’t changed,” Turner said.

He added, “I’ve been a strong advocate for international cricket returning to Pakistan, and I’ll step up my efforts in the run-up to England’s fall 2022 tour. Thank you to everyone on the PCB who has worked so hard to make it happen.”

The ECB cancelled their men’s and women’s tours to Pakistan earlier this week, citing the players’ emotional and physical well-being. Senior officials viewed it as a potential blow to relations between Pakistan and the UK government.

The British High Commissioner stressed that the ECB’s refusal to tour Pakistan was their personal decision and not influenced by the UK government. PM Johnson is said to be “angry’’ about the ECB’s decision to cancel the men’s and women’s white-ball tours to Pakistan, according to him.
