Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of former star bowler Shoaib Akhtar’s degrading treatment on national television during a live event.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan confirmed this while speaking to a private news channel. During a live show earlier this week, Akhtar and PTV Sports anchorperson Dr. Nauman Niaz had a fight, and the former player later announced his resignation from the state-run television.
“You cannot urge someone to quit the show on the air; such behaviour smacks of arrogance,” he added, adding that Dr. Niaz should have given it more thought before acting indifferently.
He described the event as “shameful,” noting that it occurred after the national team had defeated New Zealand and the populace was enjoying the triumph. Shoaib Akhtar was also praised by Ali Mohammad Khan for being calm throughout the situation. He claimed that the fast bowler had a reputation for being aggressive, but that he handled the matter calmly.
