PM Imran Khan urged Bill Gates to help the Afghan people with humanitarian aid

Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft and a millionaire philanthropist, to consider sending humanitarian aid to Afghanistan’s poor.

The prime minister stated in a telephonic chat on Tuesday that more than half of the population in the war-torn country was living in poverty and in desperate need of financial assistance.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders discussed their concerns over Afghanistan’s health system, which is the only other country in the world with polio, along with Pakistan (PMO).

They addressed the commencement of polio programs in Afghanistan to safeguard Pakistan’s recent accomplishments in the elimination of the poliovirus, expressing their determination to eradicate the infectious disease from both nations.

The prime minister informed Gates of Pakistan’s “ongoing progress” in the fight against polio and thanked him for the crucial help provided by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
