PM Shehbaz Allows Fans to Attend PSL Final in Stadium

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved allowing spectators to attend the final of the Pakistan Super League Season 11, according to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The decision comes after franchise owners requested that fans be given access to the stadium for the final match.

Earlier in the tournament, matches were held without crowds as part of government steps to reduce fuel use and manage expenses. Games were also limited to a few venues, mainly in Karachi and Lahore, to cut down on travel and operational costs.

The final is set to take place on May 3 at Gaddafi Stadium. With fans now allowed inside, authorities are expected to make arrangements for security and crowd management. Officials have not yet shared full details about ticket sales or capacity limits, but a controlled number of spectators is likely.

The move has been welcomed by cricket fans, as the PSL is one of the most popular sporting events in the country. Many supporters had expressed disappointment over empty stadiums during earlier matches.

Allowing fans for the final is seen as a balance between public interest and ongoing economic caution, while also helping restore the usual match-day atmosphere.
