PM Shehbaz Sharif Declared the US President a Man of Peace

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised US President Donald Trump as a “man of peace.” He spoke at a special event at the US Embassy in Islamabad on June 4, 2026. The ceremony marked the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.

PM Sharif thanked President Trump for his important help in bringing a ceasefire between Pakistan and India in May 2025. He said Trump’s quick and strong action stopped the fighting after tensions rose following the Pahalgam incident. The ceasefire on May 10 helped save many lives and brought peace back to South Asia.

“President Trump’s timely intervention resulted in the ceasefire between Pakistan and India,” Sharif said. “Pakistan will remain forever grateful. In this context, he will always be remembered as the man of peace.” He added that Trump’s efforts prevented a big disaster between the two nuclear countries.

The prime minister also spoke about the strong friendship between Pakistan and the United States. He called it a “true and special relationship” that has lasted nearly eight decades. This partnership covers security, trade, education, health, and more. He remembered US help in Pakistan’s Green Revolution, building dams, and creating good schools.

Sharif praised the close work between the two countries in the past, including during the Soviet time in Afghanistan and after 9/11. He said under President Trump’s leadership, the ties are getting even stronger. Pakistan is also helping with talks between the US and Iran.

US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker also spoke at the event. She noted Trump’s praise for PM Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir’s role in the ceasefire. Both sides agreed that good diplomacy is key to peace in the region.

This praise shows Pakistan’s desire for better relations with the US. It highlights how international help can stop conflicts and save lives.
