On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a moment to thank his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, for sending him congratulations on his recent appointment as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. This public acknowledgment marks a rare instance of communication between the leaders of the two neighboring nations.
In a message shared on his official social media account, PM Shehbaz expressed his gratitude to Narendra Modi for extending his felicitations. Shehbaz Sharif, who leads the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), secured his position as the country’s prime minister for the second consecutive term after garnering 201 votes with the backing of allied parties, notably the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), just last week.
Following his election, PM Shehbaz received congratulatory messages from various world leaders and diplomats, recognizing his role as the nation’s chief executive. Besides thanking Modi, he also expressed his appreciation to other heads of state in separate posts across social media platforms.
