PM Shehbaz Sharif, while expressing concern over worrying economic indicators, ordered immediate action to control inflation in the country.
On Thursday, Shehbaz chaired a meeting where the Ministry of Finance briefed him on the prevailing economic situation in the country.
The meeting was attended by PMLN leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Miftah Ismail, Zubair Umar, party spokesman Marriyum Aurangzeb and others, including relevant authorities.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz said urgent efforts were being made to strengthen the country economically.
He instructed his economic team to develop a detailed strategy for the relevant reforms.
“In any case, measures must be taken to improve the economic situation of the common man,” said the Prime Minister.
It also issued guidelines for priority efforts to combat inflation. Meanwhile, the Department of Energy submitted the indictment of the previous government’s “incompetence” to the Prime Minister.
