PM Shehbaz’s Cabinet Largest Ever in Pakistan with 83 Members

Recently, Federal cabinet reached to 83 members as PM Shehbaz Sharif added 5 more special assistants, a move that would burden more on suppressed economy.

Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Rao Ajmal Khan, Malik Sohail Khan, Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Chaudhry Hamid Hameed and Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh to his cabinet, making it largest in the history of the Pakistan.

Adding five new special assistants to the prime minister, the cabinet now have 38 federal ministers, seven ministers of state, four advisers to the PM and 34 SAPMs.

Status of the state minister have been given to all the 5 members however no portfolio had been assigned till yet.

In current economic uncertainty where foreign exchange reserves dropped to alarming low, inflation got to the new height and deteriorating law and order situation, the expansion of cabinet is unjustified as it would cost the national kitty in terms of allowances and perks.
