President Asif Ali Zardari Announced PKR 100 Million Personal Reward for Arshad Nadeem

In a remarkable show of appreciation for outstanding sports achievements, President Asif Ali Zardari has announced a personal reward of PKR 100 million for Arshad Nadeem, who won the gold medal in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics.

This recognition was part of a special ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where Nadeem was also awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest honors.

President Zardari praised Nadeem for his extraordinary throw of 92.97 meters, which not only set a new record but also earned Pakistan its first individual Olympic gold medal.

He emphasized the importance of ongoing support for athletes in the country, suggesting that scholarships should be provided for athletes’ children and that more funding should be allocated to sports development.

The President also took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of Nadeem’s coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, whose guidance played a crucial role in this historic achievement. The celebration of Nadeem’s success has been widely shared by other government officials and provincial leaders, highlighting the national pride in this Olympic victory.
