President Pakistan Olympic Association Lt Gen (retd) Hasan Resigns After 17 Years

Lieutenant General (retired) Arif Hasan, who served as the President of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) for more than 19 years, has officially resigned from his position due to health reasons.

Having been first elected to the role in March 2004, Hasan confirmed his resignation, citing the importance of prioritizing his health while leading such a significant organization. His decision, communicated through a resignation letter to the POA’s Executive Committee, will be effective from January 1, 2024.

In stepping down, Hasan expressed his hope for a smooth transition, emphasizing his desire for the POA to continue flourishing and building upon the foundation established during his lengthy tenure as President. This move marks a notable change in leadership for the Pakistan Olympic Association after almost two decades under Lieutenant General Arif Hasan.
