Private Schools Banned from Charging Winter Vacation Fees

Private schools in Quetta have been prohibited from collecting fees for winter vacations following a ruling by the Balochistan High Court.

Deputy Commissioner West Munir Ahmed Durrani has issued an official notification directing private educational institutions to comply with the court’s decision. The order aims to prevent schools from charging parents fees for the winter break in violation of the ruling.

Authorities have warned that schools found violating the directive could face strict legal and administrative action. Possible penalties include cancellation of their registration and the sealing of school premises.

The deputy commissioner has also urged parents to report any school collecting fees unlawfully during the winter vacation period. Complaints can be submitted to his office or the relevant education authorities for investigation and necessary action.

The development brings attention to the issue of school fee collection during holidays and the responsibility of private educational institutions to follow court orders and applicable regulations.

Parents often face financial pressure from education-related expenses, making compliance with fee rules an important concern for families. The latest directive provides a channel for parents to raise complaints if they believe a school is charging fees contrary to the court’s decision.

Authorities have emphasised that action may be taken against institutions that fail to comply. Parents are encouraged to retain fee vouchers, receipts and other relevant records when reporting suspected violations.

The notification reinforces the requirement for private schools in Quetta to follow the court’s ruling. Its implementation will depend on compliance by educational institutions and the response of authorities to complaints received from parents.
