PTA Allows 19 Companies to Manufacture Mobile Phone Locally

As per the official sources, PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) has permitted 19 foreign & domestic firms to locally manufactures the mobile phones.

While making the announcement through Twitter, PTA officials tweeted that it has given permission of Mobile phones Manufacturing Authorizations to 19 foreign & local companies for the production of mobile devices (2G/3G/4G) locally.

The authority added “Aimed at encouraging manufacturers to set up their plants in Pakistan, the Government has introduced a comprehensive & supportive Mobile Manufacturing Policy, after which PTA issued Mobile Device Manufacturing (MDM) Regulations in 2021,”.

Moreover, it further said that these improvements made way for the granting of manufacturing authorizations, a major milestone in the journey towards “Digital Pakistan”.
