PTA says that users will block unwanted SMS calls now

Recently, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) declared that measures would be taken to block spam and unsolicited calls and messages.

PTA said in the official notification that “unwanted calls and messages can be disruptive, but there are measures that people can take to reduce them”

Those who do not wish to receive messages relevant to telemarketing can register their number on the Do Not Call Register of PTA (DNCR).

Form ‘reg’ and SMS to 3627 are all they have to do.

The warning added that users should contact their respective service suppliers if the problem persists.

They should type ‘unreg’ and send a message to 3627 if they want to receive the telemarketing contact messages again.

Those who want to block spam or unsolicited communication can type the cell number of the spammer, offer room, paste the message received and send it to 9000.

The PTA also advised users not to include their personal information in response to unknown or unwanted calls and SMS messages, such as account numbers, passwords, or any other information.
