PTI govt. plans to privatize 10 more entities

In the midst of slow progress on one and a half dozen companies that have already been identified for privatization, the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is considering privatizing 10 additional corporations, including Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and two gas utility companies.

The list originally included 11 government-owned companies, but the Cabinet Committee on SOEs removed Pakistan Television’s name and ordered the other cases to be investigated.

As per the officials, the Utility Stores Company (USC) is also among the 10 organizations recently shortlisted for privatization by the Ministry of Privatization in the next process.

Utility Stores Corporation, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Pakistan Expo Centers Private Limited, Pakistan Environment Planning and Architectural Consultants Private Limited, Overseas Employment Corporation Private Limited, National Investigation Corporation Private Limited and National Investment Trust and National Engineering Services Pakistan Limited (NESPAK) are the other companies that have been proposed for privatization
