Punjab Health Minister, Dr. Yasmin Rashid declared on Monday that the issuance of Sehat Insaf Cards has been approved for all families in the province.
She said that it is the government’s duty to provide each person with better healthcare facilities. The Minister has announced that 29.3 million families will be given health insurance cards by the end of December 2021.
She also said that nine new hospitals in the province of Punjab are being built for the first time.
Moreover, it was agreed to extend the health insurance plan’s coverage. CM Usman Buzdar said that in the first phase of the program, the provincial government had provided Sehat Insaf Cards to more than 5.1 million families.
He said that in the next steps, health cards would be given to government employees, journalists, educators, seminar students and others. The chief minister said that the best medical facilities under the plan will be provided to every citizen and no tolerance will be shown over any kind of negligence.
Earlier last November, the Punjab government agreed to extend the reach of Sehat Insaf Cards in order to provide people with health insurance facilities.
