Punjab government approved 10 development projects totaling Rs. 152 billion

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved ten development initiatives worth Rs1, 52,208.239 million in diverse sectors.

The 34th Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of the current fiscal year, presided over by Chairman Planning & Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal, authorized these initiatives.

The University of Applied Engineering and Emerging Technologies (UAEET) Sialkot for Rs. 16,949.470 million, the provision of missing specialties for the up-gradation of DHQ Hospital to Teaching Hospital D.G Khan at Rs. 5,452.826 million, The World Bank assisted Punjab irrigated agriculture productivity improvement project (PIPIP) at Rs. 67,458.999 million, and the renovation of Faisalabad-Satiana Road from Bypass to Tandlianwala District Faisalabad at Rs. 500.000 million.

At the cost of Rs. 1,115.089 million, roads from MC Limits to Ring Road Faisalabad (A) Faisalabad Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad Satiana Road, Faisalabad Jhang Road, and Faisalabad Sammundri Road were also rehabilitated or improved.

Also, for Rs. 13,515.500 million, promotion of climate-smart high-value agriculture (PCS-HVA), at the cost of Rs. 3,822.655 million, sustainable productivity enhancement will be achieved by promoting climate-smart and efficient automated agricultural practices at the cost of Rs. 27,493.852 million, water productivity will be improved using resource conservation methods; the cost of dualization of Lilla Interchange (M-2) via PD Khan to District Jhelum was Rs. 13,947.903 million, and the cost of construction of a metalled road from Kharar Buzdar to Bewata District DG Khan was Rs. 1,951.945 million.
