Punjab Govt Completes Bhati Chowk Underpass In Lahore In Just Four Months

The Punjab government has completed the Bhati Chowk Underpass in Lahore in around four months, marking the completion of another major road project in the city. The project is aimed at improving traffic flow around Bhati Chowk, Data Darbar, and nearby areas, where heavy traffic often causes delays.

Construction work progressed quickly despite the busy location and the need to manage traffic during the development period. According to project updates, 215 of the planned 375 piles had been completed by April, showing the pace of construction at the site.

The underpass was completed ahead of the originally expected timeline and was inaugurated on August 14, 2026. The new facility is expected to reduce traffic pressure at Bhati Chowk and make travel easier for motorists using the surrounding roads.

Bhati Chowk is located close to Lahore’s historic Bhati Gate and Data Darbar area, making the project important for both daily commuters and visitors. The completion is part of the Punjab government’s wider efforts to improve Lahore’s road network and reduce congestion at major intersections.
