Punjab Govt Decides to Close Unregistered Home Tuition Centers

The Punjab government has taken a firm step to improve student safety. It has decided to shut down all unregistered home tuition centres across the province. This action comes after serious concerns about building safety and poor operating standards at many private tuition places.

The move follows a tragic incident in Lahore’s Kahna area where the roof of an unregistered tuition centre collapsed. At least 14 children lost their lives and several others were injured. The centre was operating illegally in a residential building with a weak structure. This accident highlighted the dangers of unregulated tuition centres.

Authorities have directed education departments to identify unregistered centres and take strict action against them. This includes heavy fines and closure. Officials are preparing a full list of illegal centres operating in homes and other unsafe places.

The government is urging parents to check and send their children only to registered and approved tuition facilities. These centres must meet safety rules, have proper registration, and follow legal requirements.

This decision aims to create a safer learning environment for students. It will also help strengthen oversight of private education services. Experts believe proper regulation can reduce risks while allowing good tuition centres to continue helping students with their studies.
