Punjab Govt Increases Bus Fares by Up-to 267%

Transport costs have grown by as much as 267% according to the Punjab Government. Bear in mind that non-AC buses are affected by this. On April 25, the higher rates went into effect as inflation soared. Citizens who are afflicted by inflation are worried that this situation will make travel almost impossible. According to specifics, the cost of buses that travel between cities will rise by 265%, while the cost of buses that travel inside the same city will rise by 267%. The price for a four-kilometer trip is currently Rs. 14. After an increase of Rs. 33, this fee will rise to Rs. 47.

Due to the high cost of fuel, people are gradually switching from private transportation, such as cars and motorcycles, to public transportation. People may have little choice but to cycle or walk to their destinations as a result of the sharp increase in fuel prices.
