Punjab Govt Officially Announces 3 Day Holidays for Eid ul Azha

The Punjab Government has officially announced three public holidays across the province for Eid ul Azha celebrations.

According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), all government and private offices, educational institutions, and banks in Punjab will remain closed from Monday, May 26 to Wednesday, May 28, 2026.

The notification directs all departments to ensure the smooth implementation of these holidays. The S&GAD Welfare Wing has also asked for wide publicity of this announcement through national and regional English and Urdu newspapers, as well as electronic media, so that the general public is fully informed.

Eid ul Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the biggest Islamic festivals. The three-day holiday will allow people to celebrate with their families, perform Qurbani, and enjoy the festive days.

This decision is in line with the tradition of giving extended holidays during major religious occasions in Pakistan. Citizens are advised to complete their important work before the holidays begin and plan their Eid celebrations safely.

The government has urged people to follow traffic rules and celebrate responsibly during the Eid holidays.
