Punjab Govt Refused to Provide Security for HBL PSL 8 Matches Due to Funds Issue

The provision of funds for the security of matches in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League has been ruled out by the temporary Punjab administration (PSL8).

The choice was made by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi during the cabinet meeting where the PCB’s funding request was considered. The cabinet agreed that the provincial government will not give the cricket organisation Rs 250 million.

The interim administration claimed that it had spent Rs450 million on preparations for PSL8 matches in the provinces, adding that the PCB would now provide the remaining Rs250 million.

The matches slated to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore are likely to be moved to Karachi since the government has informed the PCB of its intention.
