The Punjab government has introduced a relief program worth Rs30 billion to support low-income families during Ramazan. This initiative will benefit at least three million households across the province.
As part of this program, eligible individuals will receive Rs10,000 through bank pay orders. The distribution will be managed by the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry, PITB, and the Bank of Punjab. To ensure easy access, more than 18,000 distribution points have been set up throughout Punjab.
In addition to financial aid, the government has arranged model bazaars and relief markets where essential food items like ghee, chicken, pulses, and vegetables will be available at lower prices. This will help people manage their daily expenses more easily during the holy month.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also announced a special health initiative. Under this program, bone marrow transplant cards will be provided to children in need, allowing them to receive free medical treatment. This step aims to support families who struggle with high medical costs.
The Punjab government’s efforts reflect its commitment to helping those in need, especially during Ramazan. By offering financial assistance, affordable food, and free medical care, the initiative aims to ease the burden on underprivileged families and ensure they can observe the holy month with dignity and peace of mind.
